发帖游客配文称，本溪动植物园的狮子都“饿成片片”了。网友纷纷呼吁给予这头狮子更多关注，还有人在本溪市动植物园的社交帐号评论区留言“狮子怎么样了”“对动物好点”......面对网友的询问，本溪动植物园在相关视频的评论区做出了初步解释：“此狮子年龄较大，配偶去世一段时间后，突然开始不吃东西，40多天几乎不吃东西，偶尔吃一点，故大瘦！今天动物园是趁天气暖和，让它出来晒晒太阳。”

4月14日，上游新闻记者联系本溪动植物园，一名工作人员证实了此事，并称目前该园相关科室正在整理具体情况材料，稍后将通过官方渠道进行答复。
